Mine Geologist - Underground

Genesis Minerals are currently seeking a Mine Geologist, Underground to join our Geology team. This is a permanent opportunity, working an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster, based at our Leonora Operations.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will understand and communicate the Geology and Ore extraction process with the aim of improving productivity, maximising ore recovery and minimising dilution in order to to meet mining budget and forecasts.

The opportunity:

• Produce sections, plans and long sections showing interpreted and factual mapping of the geology and deposits.
• Produce geology and mineralisation wireframes.
• Sample, photograph and map all faces developed in ore drives and maintain all headings on line.
• Complete underground mapping for all declines, accesses and ore drives.
• On time data entry, tracking and reconciliation of ore movements for daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
• Identification of inferred, indicated and measured resources to meet the requirements of the mine.
• Log all diamond drill holes in a timely fashion to the required high standard.
• Mentor and assist the junior Geologists

What we will expect from you:

• Driver’s License (C Class, Manual Car), minimum
• A tertiary qualification in geology
• Demonstrated experience as an underground mine geologist
• Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
